Become a Builder on ReachOut’s Online Community!

Receive training and learn how to provide peer support to other community members and to make sure our forum remains a fun and safe place for people to connect online.

This program will provide you with all the necessary skills to help us expand our online community and provide peer support. As a Builder, you'll have the chance to lead community activities, discussions and begin exploring what it’s like to support other people.

If you’re between 18–25 years old and you live in Australia, you can register your interest to become a Builder. Successful applicants will need to complete our online training program.

What’s involved?

  • Provide peer support online by sharing your experiences and learnings to help others.
  • Uphold our community rules by keeping it as a safe and supportive space for everyone.
  • Participate in discussions and activities on the forums.

What’s required?

  • Complete our online training (approximately two hours).
  • Participate as a Builder in the online community by responding to members seeking support and contributing to community activities.
  • Get to know the other ReachOut Builders and Peer Moderators.

Register your interest!

You can apply to become a Builder at any time. Each month we invite a new round of Builders to undergo training, so you’ll hear from us within one month of applying. Register your interest and we’ll send you an application form.

Please note, you must be between the ages of 18 and 25 years old to participate in this program. If you're over or under this age, check out https://about.au.reachout.com/get-involved for other ways to get involved!

Important: For your application to be accepted, make sure you have made an account with the ReachOut Forums here (https://au.reachout.com/sign-up). Your application will not be accepted unless your username is anonymous. Do not use your name or other identifiable information in your username

Selection Criteria

These questions help us understand a bit more about why you'd like to volunteer with ReachOut and if you're the right fit for a peer support program. They're also a great way for us to get an understanding of what kind of things you might be interested in helping out with. Please keep answers to under 200 words per section.
