The 2013 ReachOut Film Crew Competition was aimed at young film makers aged 18-24 with a passion for making films that make a difference. 20 videos were shortlisted for the finals, with first, second and third prize being awarded at our 15th Birthday Celebration in March, 2013.
Responding to the brief, 'What can you do to keep yourself mentally fit and healthy' all the videos submitted to the ReachOut Film Crew Competition addressed the issue of mental health, focussing specifically on the importance of overall wellbeing. Winner, Zak Norris' film 'Balloons' looks at all the ways we can keep ourselves mentally fit, from taking time out with family to being active and setting goals.
About the winner
Zak Norris is 19 years old from Perth, WA. He is studying Screen Production at Murdoch University and been interested in film making from a young age. Getting involved in the film industry is one of his biggest goals and Zak will be moving to the US once he finishes university to pursue a career in directing, editing, producing - anything to get his foot in the door.
