On the 30th of June 2011 Conrad Mckee set out to walk unassisted from Steep Point to Byron Bay via Ayres Rock (the western most point to the eastern most point).
In 2009 Conrad spent 12 months as a leader at Wollangarra, an outdoor education camp in Victoria. His involvement there goes back to '91 where as a young person he took part in many hikes in the Alpine National Park.
Conrad is hoping to raise $5635 (one dollar for each kilometer walked) and also raise much awareness by getting people to "Just Talk".

“Working and living there opened my eyes and taught me a lot about myself and what the next generation of young people face today. The people I've met there over the years and what it has instilled in me is the inspiration and determination to want to undertake such a walk. During the walk I hope to raise the awareness of Youth Suicide in Australia.
The annual rate of suicide amongst men and women in the 14-25 age group is equal to or higher than the loss of life in car accidents making it no.1. Many people are unaware of this as it is a subject rarely brought up but affects so many.”
