ReachOut.com by Inspire Foundation has today launched Chuffed's first mental health-focused crowdfunding campaign.

Calling on young Australians to support the filming of the ReachOut.com Virtual Tour, the campaign harks back to the enormously successful Triple J Real Appeal in 1997, when young people from across Australia raised almost $200k to help kickstart ReachOut.com.

"Young people have been behind ReachOut.com since we started. Now we want to work alongside them to show policymakers how important ReachOut.com is in their lives," said Jono Nicholas, CEO of ReachOut.com by Inspire Foundation.

The ReachOut.com Virtual Tour is the biggest mental health campaign to be run on Chuffed.org, an Australian online platform for crowdfunding non-profit and social enterprise projects. Prashan Paramanathan, CEO of Chuffed.org, said his service makes sense for the ReachOut.com Virtual Tour:

"Chuffed is perfect for ReachOut.com because it's designed for the non-profit community. Plus, working with Chuffed means that every dollar donated to the Virtual Tour will go to the project, without any losses to fees," said Paramanathan.

The ReachOut.com Virtual Tour follows the release of the Crossroads report in March 2014, which featured policy recommendations including a need for greater emphasis on self-help and online services in the mental health system.

"The Crossroads report showed that we need to put more money into online services like ReachOut.com in order to help more young people," added Nicholas. "The Virtual Tour will show policymakers how ReachOut.com works for young people and the impact it has in their lives."
