ReachOut.com joined the R U OK? bus tour this week, a 5-week east coast trip culminating in Sydney on 11th September.
This year's campaign from R U OK? involves an attempt to sign up 23,000 Conversation Mates, defined as Australians who are prepared to ask the simple, powerful question more regularly of family and friends.
“We’re thrilled to be a part this year’s R U OK? campaign,” said Jono Nicholas, CEO of ReachOut.com by Inspire Foundation.
“R U OK’s message is incredibly important for young Australians to hear. For a young person, a conversation really can change a life,” said Jono.
If a conversation gets really tough, young people can turn to ReachOut.com to connect with others and for more information on mental health issues.
“Sometimes conversations are tough or there’s more information needed, then it’s time to head to ReachOut.com for practical tools to help,” added Jono.
ReachOut.com will travel with the bus until the final event marking R U OK? Day on 11th September at Sydney’s Price Alfred Park.
“We’ll have a staff member and Youth Ambassadors at every stop along the way, talking with the community about the help ReachOut.com gives to young people in tough times,” said Jono.
