ReachOut’s CEO Jono Nicholas is moving on from ReachOut in late 2018 and we’re excited for his future but sad to see him go. Check out this message from our Chair, Julie White, about Jono’s shift.

Our Board has accepted the resignation of Jono Nicholas as our Chief Executive Officer.

After 21 years of committed service, Jono has decided that the time is right for himself and his family to focus on the next chapter in his life. Having personally worked with Jono for 18 years, firstly at Macquarie Group Foundation and latterly as a board member and Chair of ReachOut, it will come as no surprise that he has my full support on this decision. The Board and I recognise that he is a young man with immense talent and drive, and a long and successful future ahead of him.

The Board has appointed People for Purpose to conduct a nationwide search for a new CEO and this recruitment process is underway. Jono has kindly offered to stay at ReachOut until an appointment is made to allow an orderly handover to the new CEO.

In the past few years, Jono and the Board have focused on building a strong and sustainable balance sheet with year-on-year growth in revenue alongside a talented and committed leadership team. We are particularly pleased to have an excellent Deputy CEO in Ashley de Silva, whose role continues to ensure the smooth running of ReachOut. Our focus on helping young people to be healthy and well is foremost at all times and we will continue business as usual during this upcoming process of recruitment and handover.

I will hold my thanks and more fulsome acknowledgement of Jono’s contribution until later this year when we will both farewell Jono and celebrate all he has achieved.

Julie White
Chair, Board of Directors
