Calling all parents and carers: Volunteer to help create our new service

18 Dec 2015
Parents and carers are at the frontline when it comes to helping young people improve their mental health and wellbeing. As a part of our service expansion, we’re looking for enthusiastic parents and carers to volunteer with us and shape our new service to be the best it can be.

We’re keen to work with an ace group of parents and carers in the lead-up to the peer support community launch. We’ll invite 50 volunteers from across the country to help us build and develop this community in early 2016. The group will be the voice of parents across the country; telling us what’s working well, what needs fixing, and where we’ve got it totally wrong.

Volunteers will be asked to contribute 90 minutes per week from February to March 2016. You can participate from home, or even on the bus to work, and fit the time around your busy schedule. All you need is an internet connection, a Facebook account, and to be a parent of kids who are 12–18 years old (or were recently 12–18 years old).

If this sounds like you, then fill in this form. We’d love to hear from you by Monday, 30 January 2016. Got a query? Please email sophie@reachout.com or call 02 8029 7777.

If you aren’t a parent/carer, but you know someone who is, then please share this page with them.

UPDATE: Thanks for your interest. We have heaps of parents on board now, so this opportunity is now closed.
