The Weight of Words

DIY

We're fundraising for ReachOut Australia: the leading online mental health service supporting young people during tough times.

Our goal is to host a weightlifting event that raises awareness and gives back to an organisation that does so much for young individuals - and their parents - are who battling poor mental health.

Many members within our CrossFit Raven community are either personally affected by mental health challenges or know someone elose to them whose life has been heavily impacted. This cause is deeply personal to us. Through this event, we aim to raised funds, awareness, support and connection, while also coming together as a community and having some fun along the way.

The event will feature 36 or more sponsored lifters. Each lifter will be sponsored with donations based on their total lifted weight ($1 = 1KG lifted). In addition, anyone can donated toward the cause, whether or not they are sponsoring an athlete.

Our mission at CrossFit Raven is to support an organisation that supports so many others during their time of need - and to stand otgether as a community to make a meaningful difference.

Who is ReachOut?

ReachOut provides a safe online place where young people can openly express themselves, explore what’s happening in their lives, connect with people who understand their situation, and find the resources to help them manage their challenges now and in the future.

How do your donations help?

$5 could provide a young person experiencing a mental health challenge access to vital support through ReachOut's services to help them feel better.

$20 could help support the creation of a piece of strength-based online content to help young people understand what they’re going through and feel immediate relief.

$50 can help support free one-on-one professional coaching for parents to provide them with the strategies and resources to support their teen with the challenges they are facing.

$75 could help provide a young person with a one-on-one session with a trained peer worker through PeerChat to anonymously get help and connect to feel better.

$110 could be a life-saving donation and can help ensure a young person in crisis gets the urgent support they need through ReachOut when they need it most.
